Plot Outline: In a far flung future, the underground city of Lukuss has been long forgotten by the surface dwellers of Earth. Among the residents of the dystopic Lukuss are Ichise, a maimed boxer, Ran, a girl psychic, Onishi, one of the city's crime bosses, and Yoshii, a mysterious visitor from the surface. Little do they know it, but the four are destined to determine the fate of Lukuss as chronicled in the TEXHNOLYZE series. In LIES AND DESPAIR, the fifth volume in the series, Ran sends Ichise to the surface of Earth in the hopes that their salvation may lie there. TEXHNOLYZE is a thematically dark, methodically paced, and deliberately artistic sci-fi Animé from Madhouse Productions, the animation house behind series like TRIGUN and films such as METROPOLIS and VAMPIRE HUNTER D.
